Benjamin is an author, activist, actor and minister of love. He studied communications and business and received his Master of Business Administration from the historic Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University before moving to Miami to pursue his career in accounting.

In 2013, he co-founded the iconic BMe Community, a national movement of community builders that are led and inspired by Black men. BMe Community was founded on the principals of valuing all members of the human family, recognizing black males as assets, and building more caring and prosperous communities together.

Under his leadership, BMe has touched millions of families, has influenced national policy, and committed millions of dollars to local community leaders around the nation. Benjamin has committed his life to building caring and prosperous communities across America with the mission of transforming tomorrow’s future today.

He is a collaborative leader deeply rooted in the mission and values of his work. As a recognized and respected professional, he has over 10 years experience in public, government, and business relations. For three years he directed Florida Department of the Elder Affairs STARS Program before going to work for Pricewaterhousecoopers LLC and eventually SecuriGlobe where he was marketing and brand director.

In 2015, Benjamin took the internet by storm when he came out in a riveting article on TheRoot.com “I'm Black, I'm a Minister and I'm Gay.” After coming out he founded the Just Love Center an affirming faith based online community. His pioneering work in community building and activism led him to become a Miami Foundation Fellow, AT&T Emerging Leader, Luminary of Equality Awardee by SAVE LGBT, and recognized by the National LGBTQ Task Force.

He truly works for an America that empowers everyone. He proudly leads campaigns that present Black men as assets and works to protect those in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer community from discrimination. He is actively involved in national human rights, social justice, and religious liberty efforts.

Benjamin resides in Los Angeles, CA.
